HELPFUL CHINESE LEARNING TIPS

  • "Drops" - great app for learning unique vocabulary
  • MYBY - watch this youtube channel ~ they are funny and speak really good Chinese!
  • 杰里德Jared & Kevin in Shanghai, are also great youtubers to watch. Even if you don't fully understand, it's good to start listening and get your ear accustomed to the language
  • Try Glossika - plug in your headphones, while walking to class, and listen and repeat after the native speaker (you get 1,000 free reps, but then after that, I enjoyed it so much I bought the year subscription for $240 [received a code through my email] but so worth it)
  • Listen to "Learn Chinese Through Stories" podcast (听故事,学中文)
  • I found this playlist a while ago and love it. You can listen to it while you walk, as well, and repeat after the native speaker to learn new words and phrases: https://open.spotify.com/user/1168520772/playlist/4WDBMJEpHf6Zzid4SyeRHr?si=-bR7nF3iRpO7hBDypBjm_g
  • Here is my personal music playlist: https://open.spotify.com/user/12135108394/playlist/2Ixzis1aoAS5a4C1UGauAO?si=2FGspYYaT0qJVnJjsbgqTA
  • With Chinese music, find the pinyin lyrics (or plug in the Chinese into google translate to get the pinyin) and sing along with it. Find a Chinese friend to help you with your pronunciation.
  • Elementarychinese.com, this guy has a website and so many helpful youtube videos. Follow him on Instagram for tone practices! He is super cool and is interactive with his followers - he has been talking to me through Instagram messenger and wanted me to give him a shoutout to my UA friends
  • This website helps with vocab and sentences: https://dict.naver.com/linedict/zhendict/dict.html#/cnen/home

These are some of my favorite ways to study Chinese.
